Hello all,
I received some great pricing help from some on this forum with regards to an 88' JD1050. I did purchase the machine and everything is working well. I was just wondering, due to some known clutch issues, should I "lock" the clutch pedal down once I am done using it for the day to keep the discs apart or is this a poorly informed practice? Thanks.
Also is it possible to post pics without being a premium member? Someone had asked if I would and I certainly could snap some dig. pics of it.

Some manuals will tell you to block the clutch pedal down about an inch give or take with a block of wood to prevent the disk and pressure plate for becoming stuck together during long term storage. My Kubota L245 operators manual stated to do this. I would think it would be a good operating practice to do this all the time if you don't mind the minor added bit of readying the tractor for use. ....

Bear in mind that the block of wood size will have to be predicated on holding the clutch pedal down just enough to engage the clutch pressure plate fingers just enough to hold the pressure plate a small amount away from the clutch disk. This can vary depending on the adustment of the clutch pedal. You will have to experiment until you find the right size block of wood. ....
